Subsets (YC S23) is an early-stage startup defining AI-driven subscription growth. As an Analytics Engineer, you'll join the early team shaping subscription lifecycle management, helping brands create audiences, run experiments, and optimize how messaging impacts churn, retention, upsell and more!

This role sits between customers' data and our platform. You will be the person to architect and implement how customers' raw subscription data gets transformed into clean, trusted data models that power our platform and ML pipelines.

What you will do

  • work directly with the founding team, our customers, and our data engineers.

  • own customer onboarding from a data perspective. Understand each customer's data, model it in dbt, and ship it into production.

  • build and maintain the dbt layer that powers our product, our ML features, and our internal analytics.

  • become the technical point of contact for customers on data questions, joining calls, scoping integrations, and translating their business logic into models.

  • write tests and quality checks so we catch data issues before customers do.

  • work in a lean, high-performing team where you will have a significant impact on the product and assume numerous responsibilities.

  • bring your opinions and experiences on how to scale our setup from 10+ customers to 100+ customers.

Tech stack: SQL, dbt, BigQuery, Python, GCP.

You don't need to know everything - we value strong fundamentals and learning velocity.

You may be a good fit

  • you have a strong background as an analytics engineer, or as a data analyst who has grown into modeling and pipeline work.

  • you have used SQL and dbt to build models that other people depend on.

  • you're comfortable talking to non-technical stakeholders — running calls, asking the right questions, explaining tradeoffs.

  • you've modeled messy, real-world business data (subscriptions, transactions, events, finance) into clean shapes.

  • you have strong opinions about what good (and bad) data foundations look like.

  • you have an analytical mindset that thrives in fast-paced, loosely defined environments.

  • you have an "anti-meeting" culture mindset and value focused work time.

  • you prefer a primarily in-office way of working.

Perks

  • competitive salary & equity

  • company card for all things office food/snacks

  • great breakfast and lunch (and dinner when working late in the office)

  • relocation support if you don't live in Copenhagen
